Chuck Waggin’ Pet Food Pantry supports families in need feeding pets during financial difficulties.

Help with Pet Food
PACC911’s Chuck Waggin Pet Food Pantry assists low income families and the elderly with food for their pets, thus assuring that pets can stay in the home, rather than be relinquished.

Through its food donation program and referral network, Chuck Waggin Pet Food Pantry assists families in crisis by providing pet food to those who may not be able to afford it.

This innovative program helps keep beloved family pets home where they belong, as opposed to being turned into a shelter or rescue.

Meet the People Behind Chuck Waggin’

A vital arm of PACC911, Chuck Waggin provides much needed pet food and pet service referrals to keep animals and the families who love them together. It was founded in 2012 by Donna Barker to address the needs of too many people abandoning their pets because they could no longer afford to keep them.

Donna Barker

Founder-In Memoriam

Donna Barker (yes that really was her name!) deeply loved all dogs and cats. She founded Chuck Waggin Pet Food Pantry, a valued PACC911 program, to meet the needs of hungry pets and the families who own them, but have fallen on hard times. Donna shared, “If I can help at least one family stay together with their pet by helping feed that animal through Chuck Waggin Pet Food Pantry, then I have started the process of achieving my goal.”

PACC911 was so very fortunate to have her as part of our team, overseeing the success of this vital community resource that keeps beloved pets with the families who cherish them during times of hardship. Donna left us in 2023, but her memory lives on through her life work and legacy of the Chuck Waggin Pet Food Pantry.

Pet Food Pantry Administrator

Valerie “Val” Schulte administers the daily needs of PACC911’s pet food operation, after the passing of legacy founder Donna Barker.

Originally from Iowa, Val grew up on a farm where her love for all animals began. After retiring from the US Postal Service, she volunteered for Lost Our Home Pet Foundation and other pet rescues before finding Chuck Waggin Pet Food Pantry. She brings her expertise of organization and streamlining operations, along with her desire for fundraising, to better assist with the medical needs of the animals Chuck Waggin serves. She shares her home with three beautiful fur kids Tiggi, LaPawz and Queso.

Realizing the value and significance pets play in the lives of the elderly, Marilyn is an active contributor behind the scenes helping Chuck Waggin meet its goals. Her natural affinity for the senior population brings to the forefront the need to keep cherished pets with their families, especially during the more challenging advanced aging years.

“I can’t imagine my life without pets and love being involved in the animal community. Pets, like people, are products of their upbringing and environment, but even in bad situations, pets can still manage to love unconditionally. The life lessons we can all learn from these special, innocent animals is astounding.”

Marty Buck

Marty Buck has been volunteering with animals since 1990 when, as she puts it, “she fell into the animal abyss.” Retired from the federal government, she was one of the original founders of Altered Tails. Marty is Chuck Waggin’s spay-neuter coordinator, as it’s a requirement that to receive food pets must be altered.
