Southern Ontario Animal Rescue (S.O.A.R.) is a (very) small but very dedicated group of volunteers in Southern Ontario, Canada, committed to rescuing all animals in need - from all breeds of dogs and cats, to any other animal needing our help.
With extremely limited resources, S.O.A.R. (a non-profit organization) rescues every single animal that it is able to. In future, we hope to extend this to animals that have been abandoned or rejected due to ill health, abnormalities or old age; something most rescue groups are unable or unwilling to do.
We are able to do this only with the public's generosity. We receive no funds from any agency, corporation or government. All monies are raised through the time and efforts of our volunteers at events through out the year.
Our goal is to find loving, life-time homes for our dogs and cats. We screen all potential adoptive and foster homes carefully, including reference checks, home visits and follow-up. All animals available for adoption have been spayed/neutered, micro-chipped and fully vaccinated.
When possible, our animals are fostered with real families to ensure that they are sound, good-natured pets.
