Founded in May 2003, Herzelia Loves Animals is a non-profit organization that takes care of stray dogs and cats in Herzelia and its vicinity and cooperates with the Herzelia Veterinary Department in taking care of the animals brought to the municipal shelter and finding them new homes.
To date, over 2000 street cats have been spayed, neutered and vaccinated successfully. More than 690 dogs have found loving new homes instead of being put to sleep as is done in less progressive municipal kennels, such as Natanya, Nazareth, Shomron, etc.
The organization calls for the responsible treatment of animals, aspires to put an end to the abandonment of cats and dogs, and promotes a comprehensive spay & neuter policy which will ultimately allow preventing the current massive abandonment and euthanizing.
