ARF was founded in 1998 by a group of concerned citizens who wanted to do something about the number of dogs put to death every day in Fresno county. More than 21,000 per year, an average of 50-60 dogs per day are euthanized. These homeless dogs are killed because there are no homes for them. ARF provides a NO KILL facility and pet adoption service with our primary commitment being the homeless dogs rescued from the shelters. In our first year we have rescued and adopted into homes over 200 dogs.
