Animal Control Division is under the Kings County Sheriff's Department. Animal Control's functions are as follows: Patrol county roads to capture and impound loose and stray animals; respond to complaints from the public regarding stray, vicious, diseased or dead animals; investigation of animal bites and quarantine the animal if necessary; explain county ordinances relating to animals to the public; issue dog licenses; issue notices and citations to ordinance violators; maintain a pound and provide euthanasia including private pet cremations.
