This organization was started when our local humane society could no longer take in any abandoned animals. The county we live in had no animal shelter at that time. We found four abandoned puppies and when our humane society told us they could not take them, we decided we couldn't just leave them. A couple of days before we had picked up two puppies from a county dumpster. With these six puppies Mutts of Love was started.
This is a privately run family group that strives to help alleviate the homeless pet population of Evans County. Almost all vet care and food is payed out of our pockets. We collect very little funding from donations or fundraisers. We take in as many homeless animals as we can, but we can only do so much alone. This county has a huge homeless animal problem, so each adoption makes a difference. Every animal that is adopted ensures that we will be able to take in one more of the disadvantaged animals here. You are not just helping the pet that you adopt, but giving a chance to every hungry cat and dog on the street. We would like to thank each adopter that has helped us give these animals a chance.
