Blackford County Animal Shelter
The Blackford County Animal Shelter, Inc. is a non-profit organization. We provide animal control for Blackford County, Hartford City, Montpelier, and Shamrock Lakes. Our mission is to provide temporary shelter, care and medical attention for stray, surrendered or otherwise homeless cats and dogs in Blackford County, to prevent animal cruelty and neglect and prosecute offenders, to strengthen the human-animal bond through education and adoption, and to promote the importance of spaying and neutering to help control the pet overpopulation.
