The New Albany Animal Shelter is New Albany's municipal animal shelter. The shelter works with a local rescue group who provides funds & resources to help increase adoptions, reduce euthanasia, and educate the public about the benefits of spay/neuter. The shelter does have a euthanasia policy. However, the overall mission of the shelter is to NOT euthanize any adoptable animals if at all possible. Year 2002 adoption rates are up anywhere from 25% to more than 100% in any given month compared to that of 1999. Everyone affiliated with the shelter is very proud of our recent accomplishments and hopes to improve as we move forward. Please consider visiting our new facility in downtown New Albany.
