Heartland Animal Rescue Team Humane Society
H.A.R.T. is a non-profit 501 C(3) humane society serving Crow Wing, Aitkin and southern Cass Counties. The shelter also includes an impound-holding facility which serves Crow Wing County and nine area municipalities. H.A.R.T. takes in stray and unwanted animals, and personal pets (Surrender Policy) when they can no longer be cared for. We give every animal the best possible chance at being adopted. We give shelter animals necessary medical care, temperament test all dogs, and spay and neuter animals whenever possible, prior to adoption. Animals not spayed or neutered prior to adoption, must be taken to a vet by the new owner to be altered.
