Montana Raptor Conservation Center
The Raptor Center is committed to rehabilitation, education, and conservation. MRCC admits injured raptors from all over the state of Montana . Very few birds are admitted without injuries from human related causes. Raptors are frequently injured by impact with cars, trains, wind turbines, and even planes. Poison, including lead, mercury, and poisoned rodents can cause a lingering death in birds of prey, if not treated. Contact with power lines is common and almost always fatal. Moreover, birds of prey are admitted with gunshot wounds, injuries from animal traps and barbed wire fences, along with cases of head and eye trauma from collisions with windows.
Wildlife rehabilitation is a hands-on conservation effort and an opportunity to witness the impacts humans have on our wildlife and our environment.
