The West Orange Animal Welfare League (WOAWL) is an entirely volunteer, non-profit 501(c)(3)organization founded in 1977 to give stray and abandoned pets a chance at life through an adoption program. Although we don't have an animal shelter of our own, we work closely with the township's animal control faclity and animal shelters in the surrounding area. The WOAWL provides vaccinations and medical care to the animals we rescue, and when necessary board or place the pets in foster homes until permanent homes are found. The WOAWL is not limited to just dogs and cats, and have rescued birds, ferrets, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, gerbils, snakes and iguanas.
