Founded in Greensboro in 1994, the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) of the Triad is dedicated to creating a more humane community where every adoptable animal has a home. Each year the SPCA rehomes more than 600 animals through its innovative adoption programs and lost and found efforts.
The guiding mission statement of the SPCA remains as relevant now as it was when it was written in 1994: To protect, shelter and promote the adoption of homeless animals; to provide education about responsible pet ownership and to reduce pet overpopulation through spay/neuter programs.
The SPCA of the Triad operates an animal adoption facility located at 3163 Hines Chapel Road in Greensboro, which focuses on pet adoption and public education. The Adoption Center is a limited-admission facility and accepts new animals as space becomes available.
The SPCA of the Triad is a private, non-profit organization that serves the pets and people of the Triad community. The SPCA of the Triad is an autonomous organization that is not supported by the ASPCA or a government agency.
