Athens County Dog Shelter
We are a dog shelter in Athens County, Ohio, near Athens Ohio. Recently, we received a new building with 24 pens in the main kennel, 4 puppy pens, 11 outdoor pens (for fresh air and sunshine),a 3 pen quarantine room, 5 holding pens, and 5 after-hours drop-off pens. We house an average of 25-40 dogs at a time (including puppies). We are a euthanizing facility, but since the construction of our new building, our dogs are here for 7-15 days on average (some for as long as 3 1/2 weeks!), with a higher rate of adoptions! Shelter hours are: Monday and Tuesday 1-5, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday 12-6, and Saturday 1-3.
