Humane Society of East Texas
Our mission is to offer refuge, medical care, nourishment and an opportunity for a second chance for life to unwanted animals in our community; to foster a public sentiment of humanity, gentleness, and respect towards animals, and to encourage and promote responsible pet ownership. The animal shelter receives stray, abused, unwanted, sick and injured animals from the citizens of Tyler and East Texas as well as Animal Control. The goal of the Humane Society is to find forever homes for the animals at our shelter. The large number of animals received at the shelter on a weekly basis far surpasses the shelter's capacity.
