Madison County Animal Shelter
The Madison Co. shelter is operated by the Madison Co. Humane Society, sub-contracted by the county. We accept dogs and cats (strays & owner surrenders). Each animal is evaluated for health & temperament, given initial vaccinations, tested for Heartworm or FELV/FIV, bathed, dewormed and placed for adoption. We are not a "no-kill" shelter; however, by persuing every available alternative for rescue/adoption, we have euthanized only 3 aggressive/feral animals since Dec. 1998. We have 22 dog kennels/runs and 27 cat cages.
