Humane Society of Raleigh County
A non-profit organization chartered in WV since 1979 to prevent animal abuse and neglect. Promotes population control through spay/neuter programs, and affords opportunities for adoption of surrendered as well as stray pets. All animals must be spayed or neutered as a condition of adoption. Discounted surgery for adoptees and low-income persons. New free spay/neuter program for general public regardless of income offered yearly for non-shelter pets. Sponsors public education program in elementary schools and in the community.
