Arnell Memorial Humane Society is a rural country humane society, taking in 800 stray, abandoned and unwanted animals each year. We are also the designated stray holding facility for Polk County.
Arnell is an Open Admission animal shelter. We accept all strays and take in surrendered pets on a space available basis.
Our shelter offers dogs and cats for adoption. We are small enough that we know all of our animals very well and can offer insights and advice to insure that your pet adoption from us will be a success. We want our animals to become a loving family member and rewarding addition in their new homes.
Arnell is dedicated to the protection of animals by providing information, education and shelter; encouraging adoptions; promoting responsible pet guardianship, and expanding the human/animal bond.
The Arnell Memorial Humane Society was founded in January 1995 by concerned citizens and animal lovers. AMHS was named in honor of a local farmer, Roy Arnell, whose generosity enabled AMHS to build an animal shelter in Amery, Wisconsin.
