Governed by the City-Parish Police Department. Many of the animals are available on a first-come, first-serve basis during the hours the shelter is open.

We are a euthanizing shelter and are governed by Emergency Preparedness. We receive many animals into our facility each day. From lost and found pets to strays and pregnant moms, we accept any and all animals. Due to the number of animals we receive, we are not able to house all the animals that pass through our doors. Most do not make it to adoption and are euthanized. We DO NOT offer Pit Bull or Chow Chow dogs for adoption.
