Assisting homeless animals in a variety of ways. C.A.R.E. initiated animal rescue in Harlan, and Shelby County, Iowa; including the initiation of the adoption & rescue program for the Harlan City Pound in 2001. C.A.R.E. has rescued the impounded animals at the Harlan City Pound since that time. Companion animals rescued by C.A.R.E. are evaluated, spayed/neutered with full vetting, and are placed by screened adoptions only. C.A.R.E. supports humane education and spay/neuter.
