Friends of Ingham County Animal Shelter (FICAS) is a State of Michigan and Federal Non-Profit Charitable Organization created exclusively to help the animals at the Ingham County Animal Shelter. We were founded in September 2000, we receive no government funding, but simply rely on the generosity of donors! Our specific goals include: To provide assistance and care to animals at the shelter; To increase adoptions of shelter animals; To provide for the welfare of the shelter animals; To insure that every animal at the shelter has an opportunity to find a loving home; To provide foster care to shelter animals in need; To improve the physical conditions of the animals during their stay at the shelter; To assist in the reunion of lost and/or impounded pets with their owners; To sponsor and conduct special programs, education and events to benefit the shelter animals; To raise funds to augment existing shelter programs; To finance the special needs of animals which are not funded by the shelter; And to assist other non-profit animal rescue organizations with their efforts to rescue, foster and adopt animals at the shelter.
