Pine B.A.R.C. is a no-kill adoption center located on an 80 acre farm in Lamar County, Mississippi. We currently house more then 80 dogs in large fenced in areas. We are working toward getting the funding necessary to remodel the existing barn to house the dogs in indoor-outdoor runs that will be heated and air conditioned. We also have plans to build a room suitable to house cats and kittens but at this point we depend on foster homes to house the cats and kittens. If you are interested in learning more about the cat or dog foster care program please contact us.
In addition to dogs and cats we are also set up to house hamsters and other pet rodents, rabbits and other small furry animals like ferrets, snakes and other reptiles and pet fish.
We feel that preventing the births of the animals before they occur is the solution to the problem of overpopulation and strays. One of our main goals here at the rescue center is to set up a free or discounted spay/neuter program for all cats and dogs in our target area. Although we recognize the need for organizations that euthanize millions of animals every year we feel that by focusing on preventing those births we will greatly reduce the numbers that other organizations are forced to euthanize every year. We currently are working on getting several different grants that could help make this possible. Private donations and volunteers are also needed to help make this a reality
