The Dona Ana County Humane Society, founded in 1955, is a volunteer-based organization dedicated to improving the lives of companion animals in our region. We do this by working to change local rules and laws regarding animal welfare, promoting spay and neuter through both financial support and marketing, and educating the public about humane practices.
We are not a shelter; however, we do support our local shelter, the Animal Services Center of the Mesilla Valley. We act as a facilitator among local animal welfare organizations, as well as between animal organizations and the city/county, in order to bring about change and create a better world for our animal companions.
