Project POOCH is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that pairs incarcerated youth at the MacLaren Youth Correctional Facility with behaviorally sound dogs rescued from local shelters. The youth care for, obedience train, and groom the dogs. The dogs are made available to the pubic for adoption after they are ID microchipped, vaccinated, spayed/neutered and able to pass the AKC Canine Good Citizen test. Though our kennel is located on a state facility, Project POOCH receives no government funds.
