The Windham County Humane Society (WCHS) is a non-profit organization dedicated to (1) ensuring the safety and well-being of animals and (2) enhancing the relationship between individuals and pets through adoption, education, advocacy, compassion and promotion of animal welfare. The shelter has been in operation for over 130 years.
WCHS helps lost, stray, abandoned, and surrendered pets by giving them a second chance at a healthy, happy life. All animals who come to the shelter receive the best of care, including full medical examination and vaccinations against disease. Because we are committed to reducing the number of unwanted animals in Windham County, we also work with local veterinarians to have all new arrivals spayed or neutered. No animal coming through our doors is ever given a time limit. We give each pet the opportunity to wait for the right family to arrive.
