Humane Society of Floyd County
The Floyd County Humane Society first met in 1998, officially incorporating in 1999, with the goals of reducing pep overpopulation, improving the local pound, and rehoming unwanted animals. Founding members included Floyd natives, long-time residents, and recent transplants. Early activities included lectures on pet care and the fostering of dogs whose owners could not keep them.
