We named you Chloe because it was such a pretty name for such a pretty cat. We called you Princess because you were treated so royally. I said you were my favorite because you truly were.
You came to us too early in life. Taken from your mother. You weren't supposed to stay but within a few hours you stole our hearts and found yourself a new home. We nurtured you and kept you safe. You never asked for anything in return. An occasional scratch behind the ear or a brushing of your coat, always on your terms. Some cuddling when you needed it. We never denied you anything. A house full of other cats and you took over.
But time passed and you never complained. I wish I knew that you were hurting. I would have done anything to make the pain go away. Now the only pain is in my heart because you are no longer here with us. Now it is God's turn to keep you safe until we meet at the Rainbow Bridge to cross together.
I love you, I miss you.
