A note to let you know that Tessa, my "Cat with Attitude," passed on June 9, 2007.
She was diagnosed with Chronic Renal Failure on February 20, 2007. I fought like crazy to make her well, but toward the end it became apparent that it was a battle that could not be won. The disease was just too debilitating. She took a sharp turn for the worse Friday night and it was apparent that the pain was too much for her. We took her to the vet Saturday morning to intercede on her behalf and end her suffering. She quietly passed in my arms.
Tessa was a golden tabby with beautiful cerulean eyes and a tail that could wrap around Forever. Her proper name was Contessa and she fully lived up to her name as she ruled the house with her own special style. She is lovingly remembered for her Attitude (that's with a capital A), her bravery (as when at only 3 weeks of age she defended her brothers and sisters and made two giants jump), and her elegance and grace under the best and worst of circumstances.
I was with her when she entered this life and with her when she left. It has been such an honor and pleasure to have known her and shared her journey. I trust her spirit has found home quickly and she rests now with the angels. In time I know that she will help all of us who loved her to find our way home too. She was just that kind of person.
