Rambo came into our lives in November of 1995 at 6 months old. I fell in love with him the second I saw him. We bought him for a mere $150, but his presence in our lives was invaluable. We named him Rambo because he was so rambunctious as a puppy. In fact, he had me in tears the first few weeks we had him because I wasn't used to so much rambunctiousness. He used to tear around the house like a little maniac, which is something I came to adore about him.
He was mainly my dog for the first few years, but Rambo eventually touched my husband's heart as well and they bonded very closely. Whenever we went somewhere in the car, Rambo would wrap himself around my husband's shoulders, like a fur collar! We would get a lot of smiles from people who drove along side us and saw this. He was like a child to both of us.
Rambo has been with us through a multitude of ups and downs and has always been loyal, faithful, patient, and loving. We loved him with all our hearts and enjoyed his wet kisses.
One day, when I came to pick him up at the groomers, he was so happy to see me that he jumped off the table and ruptured his ACL ligament in his knee. It cost over $1,000 for him to have surgery, and at the time, we didn't have that kind of money, so my dad paid for the surgery. My dad loved and cared for his little grand dog, and so did my mom. She took Rambo in for 6 months during a time that I was really sick and couldn't care for Rambo. She showered him with love and care. My brother's heart was touched by Rambo as well, and he took Rambo out on walks and played with him whenever he visited us.
Rambo's death has been extremely hard on all of us, and the tears keep flowing. We miss him so much. Thankfully, I took a lot of pictures of our little baby and have him on video as well. We are thankful for the 15 joyful years we had him, and he will live on in our hearts and memories. What a sweetheart he was!! We love you, Rambo.
